September is here and the Fall usually means good bonefishing! Islamorada bonefish love this time of year. The temperatures slightly begin to cool off so fish are much more comfortable especially up in shallow water. Also this time of year brings what we call the ‘big water’ which is just an abnormally higher tidal level. Through October we will often have an extra foot or so of water on the flats. This means fish go much further up on the flats and stay there for much longer sometimes never leaving as they don’t have to. If your thinking of doing some bonefishing, this is a good time of year to try! Capt. Richard Stanczyk Sr. was out for fun last week during the evening. He released 6 bonefish dead bait fishing on the hard, high incoming tide on the oceanside of Islamorada! Let me know if your interested in trying some bonefishing!
